September 15 – October 15

From September 15 to October 15, 2026, we honor and celebrate Latin American & Hispanic Heritage Month. This annual month-long celebration provides an additional opportunity to explore the incredible impact Latinas/nos/nes have had on the United States for generations.

As a Spanish-Immersion school, our Ainsworth community is one that is rich in Latin American and Hispanic culture. Each year, we bring our community together to experience and share the beauty of culture at our Latin American & Hispanic Heritage Celebration.

Latin American & Hispanic Heritage Resources

Latin American history is American history. Latinas/nos/nes trace their origins to Latin America and other Spanish colonies, both in the Caribbean and in the contemporary United States. These groups include, but are not limited to, Indigenous, Mestizos, Afro-Latinos, and other mixed-race people.

Currently representing the largest ethnic minority in the country, Latinas/nos/nes have participated in the creation and growth of this nation well before it was named the United States. Complex stories of colonization, immigration, and slavery make Latino history an infinite source for inquiry and knowledge.

Check out some of our resources to help you and your family dive in further into the history and cultural influence of Latin American & Hispanic communities.
