Friends of Ainsworth

Three Organizations, One Community

Ainsworth is fortunate to have three volunteer-led organizations supporting our students, educators, and school community: the Ainsworth PTA, the Ainsworth Foundation, and Apoyemos el Español.

Each organization has a different mission, but all share the same goal: helping Ainsworth students thrive. Learn more about each group and discover how you can participate, volunteer, or contribute.

Join a Friends of Ainsworth Meeting

Friends of Ainsworth meetings are open to our school community, and we’d love for you to join us! Meeting dates, times, and locations vary throughout the year. Please visit our Events page for the current schedule.

Ainsworth Foundation

Investing in educational enrichment

The Ainsworth Foundation works to help bridge gaps in public-school funding and expand educational opportunities for Ainsworth students.

Under current PPS Foundation guidelines, funds may no longer be used to pay for staffing exclusively at Ainsworth. The Foundation remains committed to supporting meaningful educational experiences, including:

  • Student mental-health support
  • Ecology in Classrooms and Outdoors for 4th/5th-grade blended classes
  • Playworks recess programming
  • Classroom enrichment
  • Afterschool enrichment
  • School assemblies
  • Field-trip funding

Community contributions make these opportunities possible for Ainsworth students.

Apoyemos el Español

Supporting Spanish immersion across the Lincoln cluster

Apoyemos el Español supports the K–12 Spanish Immersion Program at Ainsworth Elementary, West Sylvan Middle School, and Lincoln High School.

Apoyemos strengthens students’ language learning and cultural experiences through:

  • Fundraising and community-building activities
  • Recruitment and oversight of native Spanish-speaking interns
  • Grants for Spanish Immersion teachers
  • Coordination of the 8th-grade capstone trip to Costa Rica

Families throughout the Spanish Immersion community are invited to participate in this important cultural and linguistic work.
